It has been a long and challenging road, one filled with many lows and highs
Some days have been tough, but you managed to survive
So give yourself a huge pat on the back and a well-deserved cheer
For you have done so many wonderful things during your career
You shaped the minds of many, and moulded futures so big and bright
You helped children gain confidence and taught them wrong from right
You saw them blossom and flourish, and watched them as they grew
You helped them to build dreams, which you also encouraged them to pursue
You played an important part in their lives, a huge part they will never forget
You truly left a lifelong imprint in the heart of every student you ever met
And although you are now retiring and many will be sad to see you depart
Remember the relationships you have built will stay forever in your heart
Teaching is a part of you and that will always stay true
For life still has many lessons for you to teach and for it to teach you
But for now, it is time to leave the classroom and take a nice long rest
